Do you want to see the before picture? The dresser came with a matching nightstand which I don't intend to use. I am planning to sell the nightstand back on Craigslist and have part of my "investment" back. ;-)
Now I have a dilemma going on here... My plan was to paint my dresser green like this one in this photo...

However I've been switching back and forth between adding a nice punch of color (green) to my bedroom or keeping the bedroom calm and relaxing. For instance, I do like the natural grayish brown on this Arhaus dresser. Maybe I will try to reproduce a similar look.

During my search for inspiration I found this cool dresser which I though it would be worth sharing. Isn't it a piece of art? I wish I had the talent to do something like this... Love it!

Hopefully I can make up my mind about the color. Please, let me know if you have suggestions.
Enjoy your Friday! Weekend is on the way! :-)

I can't tell by photos but the purchased antique and the grayish brown look almost the same!! I was bold. I painted my hubby's dresser red with a dark brown glaze. I do think it adds pop to our room and so I vote for the green. It's only paint. You can reprint or stop and change directions if you start and its just not working out. Whenever I've been bold those are the items I've liked the best!!

Thanks for your advice Gwen! The finish on the antique dresser doesn't look that great in person. I think I will go with green first and see if I like it or not. As you said, it is only paint! :)
DeleteYour dresser has gorgeous lines. I think that whatever you paint it, it will be beautiful! Great find!

Thank you so much Brenda! You made my day! ;-)
DeleteI've done each french piece of furniture in our room and little different. Some solid, some a combination of the original color + black and they all turned out good. As Jenna said, those lines will be outstanding. My husband's chest and my dresser and a combination of the natural wood color and black and they are beautiful! (My master bedroom project will be done sometime in the next couple of months (I HOPE) and I can't wait, but it's been worth all the work.
ReplyDeleteHeading to your blog to see your projects. Thanks for stopping by!
DeleteHere's my 2c worth - take it or leave it! But, I'd go with a neutral - maybe lighter - a different shade of white or greige, and possibly highlight some of the architecture with white or dark wax or something. Keep the piece neutral, and bring out your pops of color in the artwork, pillows, vases, etc. They're mutch easier to change!
ReplyDeleteThat's my story, and I'm stickin' to it. :)
